Also, I wasn't really paying attention the first time, mostly because I'm just used to random animals on the cover pages, but lol the giant (kind of hungry-looking?) fish right behind them while they're fishing. XP

Interesting how Sabo's backstory - or, rather, his reaction to his parentage is weirdly parallel to Ace's. Clearly the moral of One Piece is that if you have royal blood (for a given value of royal :P) your life will suck.
(Which makes me wonder all the more how how how Luffy knew about Roger!?! How? I have a hard time seeing this Ace sharing that with anyone, even Luffy. And yet... this Ace is our smiling, smirking, dorky Ace...)

I love how you pointed out that Sabo is the "middle brother." Makes sense. It also touches me how novel the idea to be brothers is to each of the three. Luffy loves having people his age look after him, Sabo loves having people care about who he is rather than what he is, and Ace... Well, Ace needed it most of all! It was just wonderful (while it lasted, anyways!) and so sad to see it break with Sabo's douchebag of a father showing up!

I squeed all over my journal, and then I had to go read your squee because there isn't enough squee in the world for all this adorableness!!
From the first page, it just made me SO HAPPY. We needed this, Oda, we really did. ^_^

Perhaps the sea is peaceful and weak, but this particular kingdom is pretty bad-ass? Or, uh, I don't know. I'm assuming Bluejam is really a rather small-potato pirate, but he gets cocky because he's got noble backing. :P

It does say that Luffy was born in Fuusha! It surprised me too. Though I don't think Luffy knew his mother, because he said last chapter that Garp was the only family he had.

It kind of looks like Odacchi wanted to save pages. ^^; We all know what he said anyway. And I think Ace's and Sabo's reactions are hilarious! Ace probably does not thing "pirate king" is a worthy goal (Renowned pirate, yes. Pirate King, no!), and Sabo is just amused by such a silly notion. Do you remember how people reacted back in the beginning of the series in East Blue when Luffy said he'd be Pirate King? That, plus the fact that Tiny Luffy is a little shrimp of a boy. XD
I want and do not want to know what happened to Sabo after this. Luffy did say that Ace was his one and only brother, and it's not like Luffy to assume that someone he loves is dead if he doesn't know for sure. So either he's dead or he... officially broke the bond somehow, which would be almost as painful. ;_;
